Code of Conduct
Silaa is committed to fostering a professional, respectful, and inclusive environment for all members. This Code of Conduct sets out the principles, expectations, and responsibilities that guide how we behave inside the network. All members, including general members, students, allies, and organizational partners, are expected to follow it.

Guiding principles
Respect and inclusion: we treat every member with dignity and respect, regardless of background, identity, or professional status. Equity and diversity: we actively promote a space that values diverse perspectives and experiences. Integrity and accountability: we act with honesty and professionalism, and we take responsibility for what we do and decide. Collaboration and support: we build a community of mutual support, mentorship, and shared professional growth.
Expected conduct
All Silaa members are expected to engage in respectful, constructive dialogue, to uphold the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion in every interaction, to refrain from discrimination, harassment, or any form of harmful behaviour, to keep personal or professional information shared inside the network confidential, and to represent Silaa with professionalism in any external engagement.
Unacceptable behaviour
Silaa does not tolerate harassment, discrimination, or bullying based on gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other personal characteristic. Silaa does not tolerate verbal abuse, intimidation, or offensive language. Silaa does not tolerate misrepresentation of credentials, expertise, or affiliation with the network. Silaa does not tolerate exploitation, manipulation, or any unethical behaviour.
Reporting and accountability
Any member who experiences or witnesses a violation of this Code should report it to Silaa leadership or to the designated ethics committee by emailing admin@silaa.me. Reports are handled confidentially and fairly. A violation may result in disciplinary action, up to suspension or termination of membership.
Amendments and compliance
This Code of Conduct may be reviewed and updated from time to time so it stays aligned with Silaa's values and the community's evolving needs. All members are expected to comply with the most recent version.
