Our story

Independent. Professional. Together.

Silaa exists to ensure that no Arabic-speaking professional woman has to build her career or community in isolation. We are the network we wished we had, open, expert-led, and rooted in mutual support.

Why we built Silaa

Silaa began as a conversation between four women who had each found their footing in Canada through their own networks of trust. We knew there were many more women like us, accomplished, generous, ready to give, who simply had not yet found each other.

We launched Silaa in 2025 in Toronto, Canada as the first collective focused entirely on Arabic-speaking professional women: a place to connect, mentor, learn, and trade real opportunities. Today we are expanding into a global network with members spanning finance, media, education, design, healthcare, law, technology, and the arts.

Our work is rooted in five values: peace, justice, freedom, transparency, and respect. One belief unites us: when women support each other intentionally, the impact compounds.
